Need an extra pair of hands on the roof today? I work as a helper on
roofing jobs — carrying and loading shingles, tearing off old material,
sweeping and clearing the site, holding and moving ladders, keeping the
crew supplied so the skilled work never stops.

What I bring: I show up on time, I work the full day, and I follow the
lead of whoever is running the job. I am not a licensed roofer and I do
not take on a roof by myself — I am the second man who makes a one-man
job a two-man job.

Typical day: 6 to 8 hours. Tell me the start time and the address, and
I confirm within the hour.

Bring your own safety gear? I have my own boots and gloves. Anything
job-specific — harness, helmet — please provide or tell me in advance.
